New Delhi: Tata Motors PV on Tuesday launched the 2026 facelift of its micro-SUV, the Punch, in India, confirming the addition of a new turbo-petrol variant. Prices start at ₹5.59 lakh (ex-showroom).

Launching the 2026 Punch, Tata Motors PV Managing Director and CEO Shailesh Chandra said the model was the company’s highest-selling product in 2024, reflecting strong market acceptance. He added that the Punch has played a key role in Tata Motors PV emerging as the country’s second-largest passenger vehicle maker.

New iTurbo engine added

The headline update is the introduction of the Punch iTurbo, powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 120 PS of power and 170 Nm of torque. Tata Motors PV said this makes it the most powerful Punch yet, aimed at customers seeking stronger performance within the micro-SUV segment. The iTurbo variant is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox.

The Punch will continue to be offered with the existing 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, generating 73.4 bhp and 103 Nm, available with five-speed manual and AMT options. Tata Motors PV has also introduced a CNG-AMT variant, which it claims is segment-first. The CNG version delivers 87.8 bhp and 115 Nm.

Refreshed design and cabin

The 2026 Punch facelift adopts a more SUV-inspired design, featuring updated LED headlamps and DRLs, a revised 3D grille, a reworked front bumper, and new 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. At the rear, the micro-SUV gets a connected LED light bar and redesigned tail lamps.

Inside, the Punch features a dual-tone interior theme, a digital instrument cluster, a smart digital steering wheel, redesigned air vents, and a new centre console with an armrest. Rear seat comfort has been improved with the addition of a rear armrest.

Features and safety

The updated Punch comes equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system, wireless smartphone connectivity, and over 45 connected-car features. Other highlights include a 360-degree camera, auto-dimming IRVM, rain-sensing wipers, LED fog lamps with cornering function, multiple driving modes and paddle shifters on select variants.

On the safety front, the Punch facelift offers six airbags as standard, along with ESC, ABS, TPMS and reverse parking sensors. Tata Motors PV said the model has secured a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating for both adult and child occupant protection.

Performance, variants and colours

Tata Motors PV claims the Punch facelift can sprint from 0–100 kmph in 11.1 seconds, with a power-to-weight ratio of 105 PS per tonne. Boot space is 366 litres for petrol variants and 210 litres for CNG variants.

The 2026 Punch is available in Smart, Pure, Pure Plus, Adventure, Accomplished and Accomplished+ S trims. Four new colour options—Cyantific, Caramel, Bengal Rouge and Coorg Clouds—have been added.

Bookings open today, with deliveries expected to commence later this month, the company said.
