Nissan has unveiled a new line-up of vehicles at the Japan Mobility Show 2025 featuring the all-new Elgrand, the confirmed Japan launch of the Patrol SUV, and a refreshed version of the Ariya electric crossover.

The company said in a press release on Wednesday that the models mark a key step in its Re:Nissan plan to strengthen its presence in the domestic market.

The new Elgrand will go on sale in Japan in summer 2026, while the Patrol is set for introduction in the first half of fiscal year 2027. The updated Ariya will launch later this fiscal year.

Expanding domestic portfolio under Re:Nissan plan

Nissan stated that the Re:Nissan plan focuses on refreshing its product portfolio and expanding into new segments while maintaining core models. The company said its goal is to combine innovation with heritage and deliver vehicles that align with evolving consumer needs.

“A strong, vibrant Japan market is important for Nissan’s global success. We are dedicated to reigniting that spirit by honouring our heritage, launching the Patrol as a new flagship for Japan, and elevating the legacy of the Elgrand through electrification and advanced intelligence,” said Ivan Espinosa, CEO of Nissan.

The fourth-generation Elgrand builds on its legacy as a family vehicle and will be powered by Nissan’s third-generation e-POWER hybrid system. It will also be the first model to feature the updated e-4ORCE electric four-wheel drive system. The model includes ProPILOT driver-assistance technologies and intelligent dynamic suspension for improved handling and comfort.

The Patrol’s introduction to Japan marks Nissan’s return to the large SUV segment for the first time since 2007. The model is positioned as a flagship for the brand’s off-road capability and aims to reinforce Nissan’s presence in the SUV category.

Ariya EV receives feature enhancements

The refreshed Ariya includes upgraded suspension, Google-powered infotainment, and Vehicle-to-Load functionality. The model supports Nissan’s focus on electric mobility and energy management within a connected vehicle ecosystem.

Nissan stated that its upcoming models, including the Elgrand, Patrol and Ariya, represent the next phase of its strategy to enhance the Japanese line-up with electrified and intelligent vehicles while contributing to sustainable mobility.
