The SUV gets six airbags, 40+ safety features, and 17+ ADAS functions, including adaptive cruise control, AEB, lane keep assist, and blind spot warning.Nissan Motor India on Thursday launched the Tekton premium C-SUV at an introductory price starting at ₹10.49 lakh (ex-showroom), expanding its SUV portfolio as part of the company’s India growth strategy.
Manufactured at Nissan’s Chennai facility, the Tekton will be sold in India and exported to markets in the Middle East and Africa under the company’s “One Car, One World” strategy, reinforcing India’s role as a global manufacturing and export hub for Nissan.
The Tekton is Nissan’s second product launch in India in 2026, following the introduction of the new GRAVITE, as the Japanese automaker looks to strengthen its presence in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment.
Turbocharged powertrains, connected features
The SUV is available with two turbo-petrol engine options — the Turbo T160 and Turbo T280. The higher-spec T280 develops 163 PS of power and 280 Nm of torque and is offered with either a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission or a six-speed manual gearbox.
The Tekton features Google built-in, providing access to Google Maps, Google Assistant, and Google Play. Other highlights include a dual-screen cockpit, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, connected-car technology, and a 700-litre boot, which Nissan claims is among the largest in the segment.
Focus on safety, export strategy
The SUV comes equipped with six airbags as standard, over 40 safety features, and more than 17 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) functions, including adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist and blind spot warning.
Speaking at the launch, Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India, said the Tekton is a key part of the company’s India resurgence strategy and aims to strengthen Nissan’s position in the SUV market. The company said the model combines global product development with local manufacturing and will play an important role in both domestic sales and exports.
Bookings for the Tekton are now open across Nissan dealerships and digital platforms. Prices range from ₹10.49 lakh for the entry-level T160 variant to ₹18.59 lakh for the top-end T280 DCT variant (ex-showroom).
