JSW MG Motor India on Monday said that MG Windsor has emerged as the country’s highest-selling electric vehicle in 2025, marking a key milestone in India’s four-wheeler electric vehicle (EV) market.

According to the official press release, it sold 46,735 units of the MG Windsor during the calendar year, the highest annual volume achieved by any single EV model in India so far. The model also recorded the strongest month-on-month sales consistency through CY25, averaging about 4,000 units a month, according to the company.

Driven by the Windsor’s performance, JSW MG Motor India reported a 111 per cent year-on-year growth in EV sales in CY25 compared with CY24. Overall vehicle sales for the company grew 19 per cent during the year. Windsor sales were up over 20 per cent in the October–December quarter of 2025 compared with the same period last year.

Managing Director Anurag Mehrotra said that the Windsor has played a key role in accelerating EV adoption in India by appealing to family car buyers and first-time EV customers. He added that demand for MG’s electric vehicles has expanded beyond major metros into tier-I and non-metro markets, indicating broader acceptance of electric mobility.

Positioned as an “intelligent CUV”, the MG Windsor blends sedan-like space with SUV-style versatility. The model is offered under MG’s Battery-as-a-Service programme, with prices starting at ₹9.99 lakh plus ₹3.9 per km for battery usage. It delivers 100 kW of power and 200 Nm of torque.

The Windsor is available with two battery options – 38 kWh pack offering a certified range of 332 km, and a larger 52.9 kWh pack in the Pro variant, with a claimed range of 449 km.
