Mahindra & Mahindra on Friday announced the name of its upcoming all-electric SUV — the XEV 9S, a new seven-seater electric SUV built on the company’s advanced INGLO platform. The model, likely to be the all-electric version of the XUV700, will mark the next phase in Mahindra’s electric mobility journey and is designed to combine power, presence, and practicality for larger families.

The global unveiling of the XEV 9S is scheduled for November 27, 2025 in Bengaluru during Mahindra’s ‘Scream Electric’ event — an occasion that will also mark one year of the company’s all-electric journey and the expansion of its INGLO-based vehicle portfolio.

Unlike re-engineered internal combustion vehicles, the company says the XEV 9S will be a born-electric SUV, developed on Mahindra’s INGLO skateboard architecture that also spawns its existing EVs – the XEV 9e and BE6.

The platform’s flat-floor design allows for a spacious cabin with flexible seating options, including sliding second-row seats, offering enhanced comfort for all occupants. Its low centre of gravity further improves stability and ride quality, the company said.

The company’s new all-electric SUV will aim to deliver a blend of performance, versatility, and design sophistication, allowing Mahindra to reinforce its positioning in India’s fast-growing premium EV segment.
