The top-spec model adds an adaptive 4WD system with 10 terrain modes and crawl control for off-road driving.JSW MG Motor India on Wednesday launched the MG Majestor, a full-size SUV positioned in what the company calls India’s first D+ segment. The base 4×2 automatic variant is priced at ₹40.99 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top-end 4×4 automatic variant is priced at ₹44.99 lakh.
The Majestor enters the premium full-size SUV segment with both six- and seven-seat configurations, powered by a twin-turbo diesel engine producing 215.5 PS and 478.5 Nm torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The 4×2 is available in six- and seven-seater configurations, while the 4×4 is offered only as a seven-seater.
The Majestor’s twin-turbo diesel engine delivers segment-leading power, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission across both 2WD and 4WD variants.
The top-spec model adds an adaptive 4WD system with 10 terrain modes and crawl control for off-road driving.
Segment first features
The 4×4 variant adds what MG claims is a first for the segment: locking differentials on all three axles — front, rear, and centre.
Ground clearance is rated at 219 mm, and MG claims a water wading depth of 810 mm. The wheelbase stands at 2,950 mm, and the overall dimensions of 5,046 mm long, 2,016 mm wide, and 1,870 mm tall make it physically larger than most competitors.
Level 2 ADAS as standard
Both variants come equipped with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, covering assisted steering, braking, and acceleration.
The safety suite also includes a 360-degree HD surround-view camera, electronic stability program, anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution, traction control, and roll mitigation intervention.
An electronic parking brake with auto-hold and a column-mounted gear shifter are also fitted as standard.
Cabin loaded with Features
Inside, the Majestor gets dual 12.3-inch screens, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 12-speaker JBL surround-sound system, dual wireless charging pads, and a 220V power outlet. Three-zone climate control is standard, as is a panoramic sunroof with 64-colour ambient lighting.
Front seats are ventilated and offer a massage function; the driver’s seat has 12-way electric adjustment with a memory and welcome function, while the front passenger seat gets 8-way power adjustment.
MG’s iSMART connected car platform is bundled, with over 75 connected features accessible through the vehicle.
Assured buyback
Buyers are covered under MG’s “Shield” ownership programme, which includes a three-year unlimited-kilometre warranty, three years of roadside assistance, and three labour-free periodic services.
An assured buyback programme promises up to 70 per cent of the vehicle’s value.
The Majestor is available in four exterior colours: Pearl White, Concrete Grey, Metal Black, and Metal Ash.
