Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has confirmed that it will pass the benefits of the Goods and Services tax (GST) reforms to the customers and announced considerable price cuts across passenger vehicle models.

The revised prices, effective September 22, 2025, will make Hyundai’s cars and SUVs more affordable by up to ₹2.4 lakh, just ahead of the festive season.

Commenting on the announcement, Unsoo Kim, Managing Director, Hyundai Motor India Limited, said, “We sincerely appreciate the progressive and far-sighted move by the Government of India to reduce GST on passenger vehicles. This reform is not only a boost to the automotive industry but also a strong step towards empowering millions of customers by making personal mobility more affordable and accessible. As India moves forward on the path of Viksit Bharat, Hyundai remains committed to aligning with the nation’s growth ambitions by ensuring our cars and SUVs continue to deliver value, innovation, and joy of driving.”

GST on small cars has been slashed from 28 per cent to 18 per cent. Small car is defined as a vehicle under four metres in length with engines up to 1,200cc (petrol) or 1,500cc (diesel). However, larger cars exceeding four metres in length and engines above 1.2 litres (petrol) or 1.5 litres (diesel), will now be subject to a higher 40 per cent GST but without an additional cess like the previous regime.
