BMW India on Thursday said it has launched the updated version of its luxury SUV, the BMW X5, with fresh styling, advanced technology and enhanced off-road capabilities.

According to the press release, the new X5 is locally produced at the BMW Group Plant in Chennai and is available in both petrol and diesel variants with prices starting at ₹1.00 crore for the xDrive40i and ₹1.02 crore for the xDrive30d, going up to ₹1.15 crore for the M Sport Pro trims (ex-showroom).

The SUV now comes with the xOffroad package as standard across all variants, offering four terrain modes – xSand, xRocks, xGravel and xSnow – along with reinforced underbody protection. A new M Sport Pro package has also been introduced, adding sportier design touches, M Sport Exhaust, and high-gloss black detailing.

On the design front, the updated X5 gets Adaptive LED headlights with blue accents, reworked tail-lights with a distinctive X motif, and standard 21-inch alloy wheels. Inside, it features a fully digital BMW Curved Display with 12.3-inch instrument cluster and 14.9-inch control display, Harman Kardon surround sound, panoramic sunroof and four-zone climate control. Comfort seats with electric adjustment and lumbar support are now standard.

Features

The petrol-powered xDrive40i variant is equipped with a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder engine producing 381 hp and 520 Nm, accelerating from 0-100 kmph in 5.4 seconds. The diesel xDrive30d produces 286 hp and 650 Nm, doing the sprint in 6.1 seconds. Both units feature a 48V mild-hybrid system for better efficiency. The SUV also comes with BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system, Adaptive 2-Axle Air Suspension, and a host of driver assistance features including Parking Assistant Professional, Reversing Assistant, Surround View Camera, and smartphone-enabled remote parking.

Through BMW India Financial Services, buyers can also avail of flexible payment options and assured buyback under the BMW Smart Finance plan.
