Maruti Suzuki India on Tuesday announced a series of senior leadership changes, effective April 1, 2026, consolidating key technology functions under one of its most experienced digital leaders.

Tapan Sahoo, who currently heads the Digital Enterprise (DE) and Information & Cyber Security functions, will take on additional charge of the Information Technology (IT) vertical.

The expanded mandate follows the superannuation of Manoj Gautam, who served as Head – Information Technology. With this, Sahoo will now oversee the company’s entire digital and technology stack — a significant consolidation that reflects the growing convergence of IT, cybersecurity, and enterprise digitisation at India’s largest carmaker.

In a separate move, Ram Suresh Akella, currently Executive Officer – Service Vertical, has been transferred to Head – Parts & Accessories.

Akella brings over three decades of experience at Maruti Suzuki, having held senior roles across sales and network operations, including Sales and Network Head for the Arena channel and Commercial Business Head for the South region.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Andhra University and an MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi.

Meanwhile, B S Suresh Babu has been designated as the new Head – Service, moving up from his role as Executive Vice President. He brings 26 years of pan-India field service experience with the company and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the Madras Institute of Technology, Chennai.

Along with this, the company today announced that the Board has approved infusion of ₹10,189 crore in Khoraj Industrial Estate, Gujarat, for capacity expansion to meet the rising demand. “This first phase of capacity of 2,50,000 vehicles per annum is expected to be added by 2029 subject to market conditions,” the company said.
