Audi launches SUV SQ8 in India at ₹1.78 crore

German luxury carmaker Audi on Tuesday announced the expansion of its premium SUV portfolio in India with the launch of the performance-focused Audi SQ8, priced at ₹1,77,72,000 (ex-showroom). The model strengthens the brand’s Q range and is positioned between the Audi Q8 and the Audi RS Q8 Performance.

The Audi SQ8 is powered by a 4.0-litre V8 TFSI engine delivering 373 kW of power and 770 Nm of torque. According to the company’s statement, the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds, with a top speed of 250 km/h. It comes equipped with Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive system, adaptive air suspension sport and all-wheel steering to enhance driving dynamics and handling.

“The Audi SQ8 strengthens our high performance SUV line-up in India by offering a compelling balance of power, everyday usability and genuine, visceral performance. It is designed for customers who want a versatile luxury SUV that can be effortlessly comfortable during the week and truly exciting on the weekend,” said Balbir Singh Dhillon, head of Audi India.

The SUV features HD Matrix LED headlights with laser light technology, S-specific styling elements, frameless doors and a panoramic sunroof. Inside, it comes with sport seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel, four-zone climate control and Audi’s virtual cockpit with MMI navigation system. A Bang & Olufsen 3D premium sound system with 17 speakers is also part of the package.

On the safety front, the vehicle includes eight airbags, park assist with 360-degree cameras and driver assistance features such as cruise control and Audi Pre Sense systems.

Audi is offering the SQ8 with a 10-year complimentary roadside assistance package along with service and maintenance plans. The model is available in eight exterior colour options, with additional customisation choices under the Audi Exclusive programme.
