24K & 22K Gold Price Today: Gold prices soared on Monday, surging nearly Rs 3,000 in futures trade, as escalating global tariff concerns triggered strong safe-haven buying in international markets.
Jigar Trivedi, Senior Research Analyst at IndusInd Securities, said gold advanced in global markets as renewed tariff tensions prompted investors to shift towards safe-haven assets.
On Saturday, US President Donald Trump announced plans to raise global tariffs from 10 per cent to 15 per cent after the US Supreme Court rejected his reciprocal tariffs. He stated that the revised duties would take immediate effect, although it was unclear whether a formal order had been signed.
Meanwhile, India deferred negotiations aimed at concluding an interim trade agreement with Washington. Market sentiment was also weighed by concerns over a potential US military strike on Iran, with nuclear talks currently at a standstill. However, negotiators are expected to meet again in Geneva on Thursday, Trivedi added.
Traders noted that Gold Rates in India jumped, with Gold prices in Delhi and other key metros reflecting the latest rise.
