Mahindra & Mahindra on Monday teased its next major premium SUV, the XUV 7XO, with a global premiere slated for January 5, 2026.

Positioned as the evolutionary successor to the XUV700, the new model aims to elevate Mahindra’s leadership in the premium SUV space. The XUV700, introduced in 2021, has built a strong base of over 3 lakh customers but has not yet received a comprehensive update, making the XUV 7XO a significant milestone in the product’s lifecycle.

Mahindra says the XUV 7XO has been “crafted to inspire and engineered to excite,” combining the proven capabilities of the XUV700 with upgrades in design, technology, comfort and performance.

Over the past few months, test mules of the XUV 7XO have been spotted on several occasions, hinting at notable exterior redesigns and feature enhancements.

The company has filed a trademark for the XUV 7XO nameplate, signalling a shift away from the existing XUV700 nomenclature. This follows Mahindra’s renewed branding strategy, previously demonstrated when the XUV300 transitioned to the XUV 3XO with its 2024 facelift.

The XUV 7XO is expected to anchor this new nomenclature as Mahindra prepares for its next phase of innovation in the segment.
