Tata Motors’ Punch.ev BNCAP crashNew Delhi: Tata Motors’ Punch.ev on Wednesday received a 5-star Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (Bharat NCAP) safety rating, with the electric SUV scoring 31.09 out of 32 points for adult occupant protection and 45 out of 49 points for child occupant protection.
The safety rating comes as Tata.ev seeks to strengthen the positioning of the Punch.ev as an accessible electric vehicle for mainstream buyers. The model was launched in February 2026 at an introductory price of ₹9.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
The Punch.ev is available with a 40 kWh LFP battery pack, offering a claimed real-world range of around 355 km, while the ARAI-certified range stands at 468 km. The EV is also offered with a 30 kWh battery option.
Tata.ev said the Punch.ev supports fast charging, with the battery charging from 20 per cent to 80 per cent in 26 minutes. The company also offers a lifetime high-voltage battery warranty, applicable to the 40 kWh battery pack for the first owner.
The Punch.ev is available in three personas — Smart, Adventure and Empowered — and is also offered with a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) financing option starting at ₹6.49 lakh, along with a battery EMI of ₹2.6 per km, subject to applicable terms and conditions.
