‘Come on’: Vivek Ramaswamy cracks up when he’s asked why JD Vance named his son ‘Vivek’

'Come on': Vivek Ramaswamy cracks up when he's asked why JD Vance named his son 'Vivek'

GOP leader Vivek Ramaswamy’s reaction went viral as he was asked by comedian and YouTuber Alex Stein why Vice President JD Vance named his son after Vivek Ramaswamy. “Come on,” Ramaswamy cackled and said Vance should be asked the question. “You ask him, man,” Ramaswamy said in the viral clip. Vivek Ramaswamy was a classmate (2010-2013) of both JD Vance and his wife Second Lady Usha Vance at Yale Law School. They are believed to be close friends and the Vances naming their son ‘Vivek’ is seen as a nod to their family friend Vivek Ramaswamy. The other Vance children are Ewan and Mirabel. Vivek is also the only Indian name among the Vance siblings. Vivek and JD also got married around the same time — JD married Usha in 2014 and Vivek married Dr Apoorva in 2015. Vivek and Approva have two children — Karthik and Arjun. The Ramaswamys are expecting their third child soon. Both JD Vance and Vivek Ramaswamy have remained in the headlines for the past few weeks. Speculations have been rife that JD Vance and Usha are going through marriage troubles after Usha was seen without her wedding ring soon after JD said he would like his wife to embrace Christianity. JD was called anti-Indian, anti-Hindu for ‘undermining’ his wife’s identity but JD asserted that everything is fine between him and his wife. “I think that we kind of get a kick out of it,” JD said on rumors. “You accept that there are some sacrifices and there are some very good things that come along with it, too. But our marriage is as strong as it’s ever been, and I think Usha’s really taken to it, and it’s been kind of cool to see how she’s developed and evolved in this new role,” JD said. Vivek Ramaswamy, who is an easy target on his social media for his Indian-origin, has been facing MAGA resistance as he’s contesting for Ohio Governor election 2026.
