Bihar chief minister and JD(U) supremo Nitish Kumar has been officially recognised by the World Book of Records, London, for his “matchless contribution in politics” and for ‘strengthening democratic values’.Announcing the recognition on X on Friday, JD(U) national working president Sanjay Kumar Jha wrote “It is a matter of great joy and pride to share that the World Book of Records, London, has recognised the extraordinary milestone achieved by Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri @NitishKumar, who has taken oath as Chief Minister for the 10th time — a truly rare distinction in India’s democratic journey,”, adding that “The organisation’s commendation notes that this remarkable feat is a reflection of his unwavering public service, stable governance, and the enduring trust reposed in him by the people of Bihar. To lead a state across ten terms is not merely a personal achievement; it stands as a historic moment for Bihar and a testament to its democratic strength.The World Book of Records has also conveyed its intention to formally include Shri Nitish Kumar’s name in its distinguished global listings to honour this unmatched accomplishment.A proud moment for Bihar and a tribute to a leader whose steady commitment continues to guide the state’s progress.” WBR India adjudicators Sanjoy Dolo and Radha Richisow formally presented the certificate of honour to Nitish Kumar in a ceremony organised by Santosh Shukla, Supreme Court advocate and president of the World Book of Records.According to a WBR press release on Friday, “Shri Nitish Kumar, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Bihar (India) has been felicitated by World Book of Records, London for being Chief Minister of Bihar (India) for 04 terms with Matchless Contribution in Politics to Strengthen Democratic Values. The Certificate of Honour was presented to Shri Nitish Kumar (Hon’ble Chief Minister, Bihar) by Mr. Sanjoy Dolo (Adjudicator, WBR – India) and Ms. Radha Richisow (Adjudicator, WBR – India). This was informed by Shri Santosh Shukla, Supreme Court, Advocate (President, World Book of Records). On being recognized by World Book of Records, Shri Nitish Kumar was congratulated by Shri Virendra Sharma (Member of Parliament, England), Dr. Diwakar Sukul (Chairman, World Book of Records, London), Shri Santosh Shukla (President, World Book of Records) and other dignitaries from international scenario.”Nitish Kumar recently took the oath as Bihar chief minister for the 10th time after winning the Bihar assembly elections on November 20. Kumar has served over 19 years and three months in office since first assuming charge on March 3, 2000. His initial term lasted only seven days after failing to secure a majority, but he went on to become Bihar’s longest-serving chief minister, and known for the highest number of swearing‑in ceremonies (10 oaths) over a 25‑year span, a feat unmatched in Indian politics.
