Rashtrapati Bhavan dinner: President Putin echoes ‘sabka saath, sabka vikas’ message - video

NEW DELHI: Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday invoked India’s slogan “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” during the presidential dinner hosted in his honour at Rashtrapati Bhavan, saying the phrase reflected the true character of India–Russia relations.Putin highlighted cooperation between the two nations in the emerging Eurasian space and said the partnership aimed at building an atmosphere based on peace, trust and security for all.“I know in India you say ‘Go Together, Grow Together’ (Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas), which truly reflects the nature and character of Russia-India relations,” he said, emphasising that Moscow viewed the relationship as both strategic and people-centric. Reaffirming support for deeper bilateral engagement, Putin said, “And overall, we are cooperating on our common Eurasian space to build a true atmosphere of security, of trust and of peace for all the countries of the world. I know that in India you say, go together, grow together. These words truly reflect the nature and the character of the Russian Indian relations. We are sure of the future prosperity and well being of the people of our countries,” he said.Putin was in New Delhi on a two-day state visit, during which Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed him with a private dinner and presented a set of culturally significant gifts including Assam Black Tea, a Murshidabad silver tea set, a handcrafted silver horse, a marble chess set from Agra, Kashmiri saffron and a Russian translation of the Srimad Bhagavad Gita. His visit featured ceremonial reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan, bilateral talks, and participation in the 23rd India–Russia Annual Summit.
