Update: Renuka Chowdhury hits back after dog-entry row; Opposition protests intensify

A political controversy erupted after former Union Minister and Congress MP Renuka Chowdhury drove into the Parliament complex with her pet dog. The incident sparked sharp reactions from the ruling party, which is reportedly preparing a privilege motion against her. When questioned by ABP News, Chowdhury responded strongly, accusing the government of avoiding real national issues and creating unnecessary uproar. She argued that BJP MPs often pet stray dogs inside the complex without objection, yet her dog—who remained inside her car—became a target for criticism. Meanwhile, major Opposition protests continued both inside and outside Parliament. Congress leaders raised concerns over the rising air pollution crisis, with MP Deepender Hooda arriving wearing a gas mask to highlight the severity of Delhi’s toxic air. He demanded an immediate discussion, calling air pollution a life-threatening issue for citizens, workers, and outdoor laborers. TMC MPs also staged a massive protest in the Parliament premises, accusing the Centre of withholding funds meant for West Bengal, including dues under MGNREGA and other welfare schemes. They alleged deliberate discrimination and demanded the release of over ₹43,000 crore owed to the state. As multiple Opposition parties escalate their protests, Parliament continues to witness high political drama.
