Bahul Ramesh opens up about the film’s origin

Alongside its theatrical performance, ‘Eko’ is drawing attention for its layered storytelling and psychological depth. In an exclusive conversation with ETimes, writer Bahul Ramesh revealed how the core idea occurred to him without warning. He explained, “The idea for Eko struck me unexpectedly. There’s a dialogue in the film — ‘Sometimes protection and restriction, they both look the same.’ It hit me out of the blue, and I couldn’t shake off the layers of meaning it carried.” He went on to add, “I imagined guarding dogs and wondered — what if this ‘protection’ was actually something more sinister? What if something that appears as A is actually B? That was the spark. I had no characters, no plot, no backdrop just that line. I write intuitively, starting with one scene and letting the next unfold naturally from it.”With good reviews and decent occupancy, ‘Eko’ is expected to mint more numbers in the coming days.DISCLAIMER: The box office numbers in this article are compiled from our proprietary sources and diverse public data.
