The UAE is preparing for a collective moment of pride as residents across all seven emirates are invited to sing the national anthem at the same time on 2 December at 11:00. The initiative aims to bring every community together in a shared tribute to unity and belonging.

A new tradition announced by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, introduced a new initiative titled Voices of Unity. The announcement came through his official account on X, where he shared a message encouraging everyone in the country to participate. His post read: “On December 2nd, at 11 AM… We sing the national anthem united #ننشد_متحدين #عيد_الاتحاد.”The call is simple but symbolic. By singing together at the same moment, people across the UAE can join a shared experience that honors the nation’s values at the heart of Eid Al Etihad.

A moment meant for everyone who calls the UAE home

The initiative invites citizens, long-term residents and newcomers to take part. It is intended to echo through homes, streets and cities, creating a moment that represents the UAE’s collective identity. The idea grew from the belief that unity is one of the country’s strongest foundations and that national pride feels most powerful when experienced together.Sheikh Abdullah’s message emphasizes belonging and the sense of community that defines life in the country. The moment is designed to be inclusive so that everyone can participate with confidence.

Making the anthem accessible through phonetic transliterations

To support the UAE’s diverse population, the national anthem has been prepared in phonetic transliteration in both Arabic and English. This allows people who may not be fluent in Arabic to still join the moment accurately and proudly. With this step, the initiative reflects the country’s multicultural fabric. It offers a way for millions from different backgrounds to take part in a meaningful tradition without language being a barrier.

A celebration of unity, diversity and shared future

Voices of Unity carries a message rooted in the UAE’s vision for its future. The country has long expressed that its strength comes from its diversity, and this initiative translates that belief into a lived experience for everyone.By inviting the entire population to sing together, the UAE highlights an idea that has shaped its identity for decades: when people stand side by side, no matter where they come from, they create a future built on pride, connection and possibility.
