West Indies cricketer Andre Russell has announced his retirement from IPL, just two weeks before the 2026 auction for the tournament. While Russell fans are still trying to digest the news, saying they can’t just bid farewell to the format right now, Shah Rukh Khan has penned a heartwarming note for the West Indies cricketer.

Andre Russell has been the star of the Kolkata Knight Riders for years, and now, as he steps down, he has left everyone emotional, including KKR owner and Bollywood’s Badshah Shah Rukh Khan. Thus, resharing Andre Russell’s retirement post, SRK wrote, “Thank you for the wonderful memories, Andre.” He called Russell, “Our Knight in shining armour,” before adding, “Your contribution to @KKRiders is one for the books…”He continued, “And here’s to another chapter in your fantastic journey as a sportsman… The power coach—passing down the wisdom, the muscle, and of course the power down to our boys in purple and gold… “Known for his wit, Shah Rukh Khan added, “And yes, any other jersey would indeed look weird on you, my man… Muscle Russell for life! Love u… on behalf of the team and everyone who loves the sport!!”

Coming to Shah Rukh Khan’s on-screen projects, the National Award-winning actor will be making it to the big screen with ‘King.’ This movie has been the talk of the town right from the beginning. Earlier, it made news for bringing together the father-daughter duo – Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan, and later, with Deepika Padukone getting on board, fans got all the more excited.
