Jaya Bachchan takes a dig at young actors who tip off paps

Jaya Bachchan takes a dig at young actors who tip off paparazzi, ‘Agar aapko apna photo nikalvane ke liye camera bulana pade...’

Jaya Bachchan, long known for her blunt stance on paparazzi behaviour, has once again criticised the growing “pap culture” that dominates celebrity spaces today. Speaking at a recent event in Mumbai, the veteran actress called the current paparazzi scene “strange” and raised concerns about the lack of ethics and professionalism.Taking a sharp dig at young actors who reportedly tip off photographers for visibility, she said the trend is “embarrassing,” adding, “I don’t know them; I really don’t know who these people are. Young toh mera grandson bhi hai, jiski picture release hone wali hai, and he is not on any social media. Everyone teases him, saying that at some point you will have to get on to a social media platform, and he says, ‘We will see.’ But agar aapko apna photo nikalvane ke liye camera bulana pade, toh what kind of a celeb are you?”Jaya has often been captured reprimanding photographers at public events, questioning their behaviour, and calling for more respectful boundaries.

Jaya Bachchan’s advice to granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda

At the same event, Jaya Bachchan also offered personal advice to her granddaughter, Navya Naveli Nanda, who will soon turn 28. Calling marriage an “outdated institution,” the veteran actress remarked that she does not want Navya to get married.

She said, “I don’t want Navya to get married. I am a grandmother now. Navya turns 28 in a few days. I am too old to advise young girls on how to bring up children. Things have changed so much, and today, little children are so smart, they will outsmart you.” Her comments reflect her long-held progressive views on societal norms and evolving family structures.

Work front

Jaya Bachchan was last seen in Karan Johar’s 2023 hit Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt.
