Siddhant recalls being mistaken for comedian Samay Raina’

Siddhant Chaturvedi recalls being mistaken for comedian Samay Raina’: ‘I’m a huge fan of yours and I’ve watched everything that you’ve done’

Siddhant Chaturvedi, who rose to fame with ‘Gully Boy’ and later impressed audiences with films like ‘Gehraiyaan’ and ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’, recently opened up about a funny mix-up during his travel. The actor, last seen in ‘Dhadak 2’, shared that he was once mistakenly identified as stand-up comedian Samay Raina while returning from Kerala.

The unexpected fan moment

Narrating the incident to PTI, Siddhant said he didn’t expect anyone to recognise him during that Kerala trip. But a fan approached him, expressing admiration and asking for a selfie. “I was travelling back from Kerala, I thought who would know me here. Suddenly, a guy came up to me and said, ‘I’m a huge fan of yours and I’ve watched everything that you’ve done.’ I got excited when he said that and thanked him. Then he was like, ‘Can I have a selfie?’ I said, ‘Yes’. Then he said, ‘Why did your show shut down?’, I thought he was referring to ‘Inside Edge 3’.”

Realisation and his words for samay

The truth became clear when Siddhant noticed the fan walking back to his friend and saying, “Bro, Samay Raina. It was a crazy thing.” That’s when he realised the entire conversation had nothing to do with him or ‘Inside Edge’.Siddhant Chaturvedi made appearance as a panel in Samay Raina’s India Got Latents, in the same interview he said “He has been through a lot, I’m so proud and happy that this has happened. We joked about it

His work front

On the professional side, Siddhant continues to build a strong filmography. He will see in upcoming movie ‘Dil Ka Darwaaza Khol Na Darling’, along with Jaya Bachchan, Sharad Kelkar and Wamiqa Gabbi in important roles. Additionally, he is roped in for the legendary filmmaker V. Shantaram biopic movie ‘Chitrapati V. Shantaram’, directed by Abhijieet Deshpande.
