TIM beats Bachchhan Paandey to score Kriti’s 3rd biggest day 1

Kriti Sanon’s ‘Tere Ishk Mein’ beats ‘Bachchhan Paandey’ to score her 3rd biggest day 1 collection

Kriti Sanon’s latest film, Tere Ishq Mein, has achieved a remarkable Rs 16.50 crore opening day, marking the third-highest debut of her career. This success, despite a conventional release, underscores her growing star power and audience trust, surpassing even bigger-budget films. The film’s strong performance, boosted by its music and Kriti’s popularity, highlights her consistent momentum in the industry.

Kriti Sanon who over the past few years has cemented her position as a solid actress in the movies business thanks to her performance in films like Crew, Mimi and Teri Baaton Mein Ulkha Jiyaa, has added another milestone to her steadily rising career graph as her latest release, Tere Ishq Mein, opened to an impressive Rs 16.50 crore on Day 1. With this powerful start, the film has delivered the third-biggest opening day collection of her career surpassing the opening of her 2022 action-comedy Bachchhan Paandey which had earned Rs 13.25 crore on its first day.The film now trails behind the actress’s two all-time highest openers: the 2019 blockbuster Housefull 4 (Rs 19.08 crore) and the mythological epic Adipurush, which remains her career’s biggest opener at a staggering Rs 37.5 crore. The fact that Tere Ishq Mein, a contemporary romantic drama with Dhanush in the lead and directed by Aanand L Rai, has secured a spot just behind these mega-budget commercial spectacles speaks volumes about the growth of Kriti Sanon’s star power and the increasing audience trust in her versatility.

Dhanush And Kriti’s ‘Tere Ishk Mein’ Review: A Bloated Love Story!

The film’s opening has also notably surpassed Crew (Rs 9.25 crore), further highlighting Kriti’s momentum after a consistently strong run in recent years. Unlike Adipurush and Housefull 4, both of which benefitted from massive pre-release hype, franchise pull, and festival releases, Tere Ishq Mein had a more conventional box-office launch. Yet, its numbers have exceeded trade expectations, thanks to high musical recall, and Kriti’s surging popularity among younger audiences and the film belonging to the romantic genre. The chemistry between Kriti Sanon and Dhanush, who also achieved his biggest opening of the year with this film has become one of the major talking points. Their pairing, fresh to the big screen, has drawn curiosity among audiences. Kriti will be next seen in Homi Adajani’s Cocktail 2 with Shahid Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna while there are also rumours about her joining Don 3 with Ranveer Singh under Farhan Akhtar’s directorship.
