‘Vivah’ gets real as Kochi couple’s hospital wedding goes viral

Shahid Kapoor's 'Vivah' gets real as Kochi couple’s emotional hospital wedding goes VIRAL after bride's accident

Remember the iconic wedding scene from Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao starrer ‘Vivah’? Amrita Rao gets severe burn injuries and scars right before her big day. Just when everyone thought this might put a dent in her and Shahid Kapoor’s relationship, things take a beautiful turn. Shahid gets married to Amrita in the hospital, and proves their bond can stand any tragedy. Now, of course, something like this sounds too filmy to be true in real life. But what if we tell you that there is a couple who had their real-life ‘Vivah moment? Again, it sounds too good to be true, but this happened in Kochi, after a soon-to-be bride met with an accident, and the groom-to-be turned the hospital ER into a wedding venue for their marriage

Shahid Kapoor wraps fourth Vishal Bhardwaj film — calls it ‘super special’ and ‘madly different’

In the clip, the groom, identified as VM Sharon Sharon, can be seen marrying the bride, who had been admitted for treatment after meeting with an accident.

Real-life ‘Vivah’ moment of a Kochi couple: Here’s what happened

This story revolves around Avani of Kommadi, Alappuzha, and V M Sharon of Thumboli and their respective families. According to the Economic Times, the hospital shared that Avni and Sharon were supposed to get married on November 21, 2025. Unfortunately, on the same day, while travelling for her bridal makeup, Avani met with a car accident and suffered a spinal injury. She was rushed to Lakeshore Hospital for treatment. Both the groom and bride’s families didn’t want to postpone the wedding, and carry out the rituals according to the ‘muhurtam’ (auspicious time) set between 12:15 pm and 12:30 pm. Thus, after consulting with the doctors, the emergency room was turned into a wedding venue, officials told PTI.

Wedding rituals in a hospital

Reportedly, the hospital arranged for the groom to tie the ‘thaali’ (sacred yellow thread) in the Emergency Department. This was to make sure that Avani doesn’t face any discomfort, a hospital spokesperson said. It was a low-key ceremony held on Muhuratam, amid the attendance of the doctors, nurses, and close relatives. Watch the video here: Further, the report confirms that Dr. Sudheesh Karunakaran, Head of Neurosurgery, said that Avani sustained a spinal injury and will undergo surgery soon. The video of the hospital has been going viral on social media, with everyone saying that ‘Vivah’ got recreated in real life. Netizens are saluting the couple and showering love on them for their unbreakable bond. Go to Source
