Ranveer Singh’s upcoming film ‘Dhurandhar’, directed by Aditya Dhar, has created buzz ever since it was announced. With a star-studded cast including Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal, the film has piqued audience curiosity. When the trailer dropped recently, speculation grew that the story might have a real-life connection. Many fans and social media chatter started speculating that Ranveer’s character could be inspired by Major Mohit Sharma who had gone undercover as Iftikhar Bhatt and infiltrated Hizbul Mujahideen in the early 2000s. But the director has finally revealed the truth.
Director officially denied link to soldier’s life
Aditya Dhar has now clarified the rumours. Madhur Sharma, Major Mohit’s brother, tagged the director on social media and asked if the film was based on the undercover spy. Aditya Dhar responded, “Hi, sir – our film Dhurandhar is not based on the life of braveheart Major Mohit Sharma AC(P) SM. This is an official clarification.”He further added, “I assure you, if we do make a biopic on Mohit sir in the future, we will do it with full consent and in complete consultation with the family, and in a way that truly honours his sacrifice for the nation and the legacy it has left for all of us.” This confirmation puts to rest the speculation linking ‘Dhurandhar’ to Major Mohit Sharma.
Film focuses on fictional spy thriller story
