Yuvraj Singh pays a tribute to Dharmendra; says the late actor ‘carried Punjab’s warmth wherever he went’

Bollywood’s ‘He-Man,’ the legendary actor Dharmendra, passed away at the age of 89, on Monday, November 24, at his residence in Mumbai. On the same day, his last rites were conducted, wherein the family, industry members and other near and dear ones paid their respects. It goes without saying that with a professional legacy spanning over six decades, Dharmendra touched many lives; thus, social media was flooded with heartfelt messages. Former cricketer Yuvraj Singh also shared an emotional note remembering the late actor, where he poured his heart out.

Sharing multiple pictures of the actor, Yuvraj Singh wrote, “Every home had a favourite Dharmendra ji film. He was a part of our growing up and of Indian cinema’s finest years.”“He brought strength, charm and honesty to every role, and carried Punjab’s warmth wherever he went. Behind the fame was a humble, grounded and deeply human soul. His legacy will live on in the hearts of millions,” he continued. He ended his post by sending condolences to the Deol family.

Yuvraj Singh’s wife, Hazel Keech, pens a sweet tribute for Dharmendra

Below the same post, Hazel Keech commented, “Rest in Peace, Legend. Bollywood won’t ever be the same again.” Several internet users also expressed their grief in the comment section. Many of them mentioned ‘Om Shanti’ and ‘RIP’ to pay their last respects.

Sachin Tendulkar’s heartwarming note for the ‘He-Man’ of Bollywood

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar also shared an emotional note for the late actor. Posting a picture of the beloved star, Sachin, in the caption, wrote – “I, like many others, took an instant liking to Dharmendra ji, the actor, who entertained us with his versatility. That on-screen bond became stronger off-screen when I met him. His energy was incredibly infectious, and he would always tell me, “Tumko dekhkar ek kilo khoon badh jaata hai mera.”” “He had an effortless warmth, making everyone around him feel valued and special. It was impossible not to be a fan of the person he was. Today, my heart feels heavy with his passing. Aisa lagta hai jaise mera 10 kilo khoon kam ho gaya hai. Will miss you,” he concluded.

Celebrities arrived at Dharmendra’s residence

After the last rites, several celebrities visited the Deol family at Dharmendra’s Juhu residence to pay their condolences. Rekha, Preity Zinta, Farhan Akhtar, Sanjay Khan and his son Zayed Khan, Salman Khan’s sister Alvira Agnihotri, and others arrived at the house in the evening to stand by the family in the difficult time.
