Bihar CM Oath Ceremony: After resounding mandate, Nitish Kumar to take oath for 10th time

As Bihar prepares for a historic political moment at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan, the atmosphere is filled with symbolism and nostalgia. Nitish Kumar had first taken oath at this very ground on 24 November 2005, a Thursday and today, 20 November, also a Thursday, the same venue is once again set to witness another major swearing-in ceremony after two decades. Gandhi Maidan, which once echoed with Jayaprakash Narayan’s iconic call “Singhasan khali karo, ki janta aati hai,” is once again at the center of Bihar’s political stage.This oath ceremony marks Nitish Kumar’s return as Chief Minister, with Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Sinha set to take oath as Deputy Chief Ministers. Senior BJP and JDU leaders have already arrived to review the grand arrangements. Massive crowds, especially large groups of women, are gathering at the venue dressed in festive attire, reflecting their crucial role in recent elections. With Bihar allowed 36 ministers, the first phase is expected to include around 20–22 ministers from BJP, JDU, LJP, HAM, and RLM. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also attend, making this a significant moment for the NDA in Bihar.
