'De De Pyaar De 2' box office collection day 5: The Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, Rakul Preet Singh starrer sees growth on Tuesday, nears Rs 50 crore

‘De De Pyaar De 2’, featuring Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh, R Madhavan and Gautami Kapoor, hit theatres on Friday, and enjoyed a solid first weekend before experiencing the usual Monday slowdown. The film directed by Anshul Sharma had a decent opening weekend and now has now seen a drop on da 4 which was expected. After having an opening of Rs 8.75 crore, ‘De De Pyaar De 2’ has made Rs 12.25 crore on second day which is Saturday which was a growth of around 40 percent. Meanwhile, it saw a growth of another 12.24 percent according to Sacnilk, on day 3 which is Sunday. It made Rs 13.75 crore on day 3. On Monday, the film saw a slight drop at the box office which was expected. The Monday dip is the most natural for the biggest movies. So, it earned Rs 4.25 crore on Monday which is a drop of around 60 percent. On Tuesday, the movie made Rs 5 crore which is a bit of growth. This could be due to discounted ticket prices on Tuesday. The total collection of the film now according to Sacnilk, is Rs 44 crore. As far as the world wide collection is concerned, ‘De De Pyaar De 2’, by the end of its opening weekend, the film had amassed ₹54.25 crore worldwide. The overseas performance has shown a slight improvement, just enough to push the film’s worldwide total beyond that of the first instalment, even though the India numbers have stayed roughly the same, according to Box Office India. While the original ‘De De Pyaar De’ wrapped up its global run at around ₹131 crore, a mark this film is unlikely to match, the earlier movie’s overseas tally of $2.8 million is within reach, provided the second weekend holds strong.
