‘Dhurandhar’: Netizens tell CBFC ‘don’t mess this up’

'Dhurandhar' trailer: Netizens fear Censor Board will be 'biggest villain' of Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna starrer; say 'CFBC don't mess this up'

The explosive new trailer for ‘Dhurandhar’, starring Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt and R. Madhavan, has set social media ablaze with fiery reactions to the high-voltage action drama. The 4-minute trailer gave fans an introduction to the lead characters and also a taste of all the action, blood and gore set to play out on the big screens. While the teaser was shocking to say the least, many fans were left concerned about the fate of the film and its graphic scenes after going through its certification process. Taking to their handles, several fans expressed their fears over the Censor Board imposing heavy cuts on the film.

Fans urge CBFC not to censor ‘Dhurandhar’

Urging the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to leave the film untouched, one viral reaction read, “#Dhurandhar trailer is absolutely insane — brutal, raw, and brilliantly cut. The cast looks transformative, Ranveer is on another level, and #AdityaDhar’s vision screams vengeance and intensity. One of the finest action trailers in years. CBFC, don’t mess this up!”Another viewer praised Dhar’s tightly edited teaser, writing, “Not many can drop a 4-min trailer that reveals NOTHING and still hits like a storm. But #AdityaDhar just did. The dialogues, the music, the action — everything is peak! #Dhurandhar looks INSANE. CBFC, bas is baar gadbad mat karna…”Another user posted, “@AdityaDharFilms you absolutely nailed it with the #Dhurandhar trailer — colour grading, action, VFX, everything looks top-tier. Can’t wait for this one. Hoping the #CBFC keeps the cuts and beeps to a minimum… zero cuts would be perfect. Also, could you confirm if this is Part 1 of 2?”

Another shared similar sentiments saying, “A trailer that hides everything but shows enough. A trailer that feels too short, even at 4 minutes. A trailer that just skyrocketed my excitement. Aditya Dhar, take a bow. Bring on #Dhurandhar. And CBFC… don’t play villain this time.”Comparisons to Animal were quick to surface, with fans claiming Dhar’s film is the only recent trailer to deliver an uncompromising big-screen appeal. “After Animal, #Dhurandhar is the only trailer that’s giving me I-CAN’T-MISS-IT-IN-THEATRE vibes,” wrote one user. “Excellent! But the only issue is we don’t know how many scissors CBFC is going to use on it… with this much violence, an uncut release looks difficult. ”

Speculation sparks memefest

Some made the most of this uncertainty and reacted with hilarious memes, predicting what the CBFC has in store for the film. “#CBFC is preparing their ‘CUT’, ‘MUTE’, ‘BEEP’ weapons for #Dhurandhar.” Another joked, “CBFC office mein rona dhona chl raha hoga.”Another simply said, “I am quite scared of CBFC at the moment.”
