Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat collects Rs 14 lakh on Monday

Harshvardhan Rane’s 'Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat' collects it’s lowest collection of Rs 14 lakh on Monday

In its fourth week, Harshvardhan Rane’s ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ experienced a slight dip, earning Rs 14 lakh on Monday, and the grand total now stands at Rs 78.24 crore. The film has demonstrated impressive resilience against new releases, with strong word-of-mouth and Rane’s fanbase contributing to its ongoing success, paving the way for future projects like ‘Force 3’.

Harshvardhan Rane’s winning streak at the box office has taken a slight hit as Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat witnessed its lowest single-day collection on Monday. After putting up a modest yet steady Rs 35 lakh on Sunday, the film dropped sharply to collect only Rs 14 lakh on Monday, marking a significant slowdown in its fourth week; the total collection of the film now stands at Rs 78.24 crore. The weekend itself had brought in Rs 80 lakh,.The Sonam Bajwa–Harshvardhan Rane starrer has already had a terrific run so far, earning Rs 78.10 crore till 4th weekend, an exceptional achievement considering the tough competition it has faced. The film opened against Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s Thamma, a part of the established horror-comedy universe, yet held its ground firmly. Even as the clash intensified in the second week, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat continued to attract loyal footfalls, riding on strong word-of-mouth and Harshvardhan’s rising popularity post the re-release success of Sanam Teri Kasam. However, the fourth week Monday dip to Rs 14 lakh indicates that the film is now entering the final stretch of its theatrical run. The drop was somewhat expected, given that films in later weeks usually begin to lose steam after the Friday–Sunday window. What made the decline steeper this time was the arrival of De De Pyaar De 2, starring Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh, and R. Madhavan. The film till Monday has collected Rs 39 crore in India, the new release undoubtedly ate into the collections of EDKD across urban centres. Despite the slowdown, the total collection of Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat now stands at Rs 78.24 crore and the film is well on track to hit the Rs 80 crore mark before wrapping up its run. The performance has been more than satisfactory for the makers and has further cemented Harshvardhan Rane’s growing bankability.Industry insiders say that the back-to-back success of Sanam Teri Kasam re-release and Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has created several opportunities for the actor. He is reportedly in talks for a hefty role in John Abraham’s Force 3, with rumours suggesting a Rs 15 crore paycheck. Additionally, discussions with Ektaa R. Kapoor for a Dubai-based gangster drama are underway.
