Paresh Rawal’s ‘The Taj Story’ is a box office success, exceeding expectations with a Rs 19.31 crore collection. The film, exploring historical facts about the Taj Mahal, has already turned a profit on its Rs 7-8 crore budget. Despite controversy, its steady performance and Rawal’s impactful role are drawing audiences, with further projects like ‘Hera Pheri 3’ on the horizon.

Paresh Rawal’s The Taj Story continues to remain a talking point both for its controversial subject and its steady box office performance. Entering its third weekend, the film showed signs of stability having collected Rs 1.60 crore over the fourth weekend maintaining respectable footfalls despite new releases and declining screen counts.The film opened its third weekend with Rs28 lakh on Friday falling by over 35 % from its Thursday collection of Rs 45 lakh, but on Saturday the film witnessed a 100 % jump as it collected Rs 56 lakh,. Before entering Week 3, the film had already put up a strong performance. The Taj Story collected Rs 11 crore in Week 1, driven by the buzz around its politically charged narrative and Paresh Rawal’s impactful performance. Week 2 remained surprisingly robust, with the film recording Rs 6.67 crore, only a 40% drop, a significantly better hold than what is usually seen for films dealing with historical or political themes. This brought the overall total to Rs 17.67 crore before the start of the third weekend.And after 3rd weekend the total collection of the film now stands at Rs 19.31 crore. The trade was expecting the film to wrap its theatrical run around Rs 20 crore but now the goalpost has shifted further. The film revolves around a court case filed by Paresh Rawal’s character questioning the authenticity and truth of Taj Mahal as who built it and what was the purpose behind it and is it actually a mausoleum , he plays the role of Taj Mahal guide in the film. He even issued a clarification on Twitter, he wrote , “ “Disclaimer. The makers of the film ‘The Taj Story’ clarify that the movie does not deal with any religious matters, nor does it claim that a Shiv temple resides within the Taj Mahal. It focuses solely on historical facts. We would kindly request you to watch the film and form your own opinion. Thank You, Swarnim Global Services Pvt. Ltd.”As per Paresh Rawal the film has been made on a budget of Rs 7-8 crore, the film has already turned a profit for the makers..Paresh Rawal’s next release is going to be Priyadarshan’s Bhoot Bangla with Akshay Kumar and soon all three of them along with Suniel Shetty are set to begin shooting for Hera Pheri 3. The issues between makers and Paresh Rawal have been sorted out and the filming is expected to begin in 2026.
