Right-wing commentator and podcaster Matt Walsh attacked Michelle Obama after she spoke about Black hair struggles during her new book tour. A clip of Michelle Obama’s comments was first posted by Daily Caller. Matt Walsh quoted this clip on X and called her an “ungrateful wench.” He also said Michelle Obama “hates white people.” His comments came after she talked about how Black women often feel pressure to keep their hair straight to match old beauty rules. Michelle Obama spoke about this during a live talk with Tracee Ellis Ross for her new book The Look. She said braids make her feel free and help her move through daily life without worrying about her hair. After the clip went viral, Matt Walsh posted a long rant on X and then talked about the same topic again on his podcast. His reaction quickly spread online and drew strong attention.

Matt Walsh said she complains on camera even though she has lived a very comfortable life. He said people should not demand respect because respect comes on its own.Michelle Obama made her comments during her book tour talk with Tracee Ellis Ross. She spoke about her life after the White House. She said she grew up doing her own hair and makeup and still likes doing things by herself. She said she loves braids and always knew she would return to them. She told people not to touch Black women’s hair, not to question it, and not to tell them how to wear it.
