Popular Twitch streamer Ludwig Ahgren recently paid tribute to one of his earliest fans named Kanabana, who recently passed away on X, with a heartfelt note. Ahgren was deeply moved by Kanabana’s support over the years, even from his early days, emphasizing the impact her support has had over the years. Her constant online presence, encouragement, and positive identity left an impact so profound that the YouTuber chose to honour her memory in a way that celebrated what she stood for and the safety she felt in his community. Ahgren also went to the extent of doing a charity stream in her honour for the Trevor Project, which stands to serve the best for LGBTQ+ people.

Ludwig Ahgren’s emotional response and the purpose behind the charity stream

Ludwig Ahgren’s earnest and passionate tribute to his fan Kanabana stemmed from his immense love and respect for her. Additionally, the streamer revealed that his beloved fan was a member of the trans community and announced a charity stream where anyone could donate to the Trevor Project, a leading suicide prevention and crisis intervention nonprofit organization for LGBTQ+ people. It was a touching tribute that had fans emotional, pointing out how special it felt to see a deeply affectionate side of the popular streamer. However, the stream took an unexpectedly painful turn when transphobic remarks were made by haters following his tribute. Ahgren expressed his utmost frustration and disdain, calling out the hostility directly, saying, “It’s tough living on Earth,” adding how all the vile behavior was “a gunshot reminder… how extremely difficult it is, especially now if you’re trans.” He also criticized and lambasted the existing political climate for fueling such hate, calling it “the most pathetic part of the resurgence of right-wing politics.” Despite this, Ahgren’s loyal fans continued showing support for his charity for the Trevor Project. Over the years, the streamer has built an enormous fanbase of more than 6 million subscribers on his YouTube channel. He has persistently used his ever-growing platform for other such charity efforts, which included raising $260,000 in 2020 for Games for Love. Also read: “Something happened in the past two days”: Ludwig confirms exit from The Yard podcast
