Kantara 2 fails to beat Mahavtar Narsimha’s sixth week collection

Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1’ fails to beat Ashwin Kumar’s Mahavtar Narsimha’s sixth week collection

Rishabh Shetty’s Kantara 2 continues its strong run, but it couldn’t match the exceptional sixth-week hold of Ashwin Kumar’s Mahavtar Narimsha. While Mahavtar delivered a powerful ₹8.2 crore week, Kantara 2 managed ₹4.47 crore. Despite this, Kantara 2 remains far ahead overall with ₹619.52 crore, compared to Mahavtar’s ₹250 crore, cementing its dominance for the year.

Rishabh Shetty’s Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1 has already proven itself at the box office, it is not only the biggest film of the year but also the 7th biggest hit of Indian cinema. But there are few things that are also not within the grasp of the biggest films like having a strong hold in the 6th week. Kantara 2 has fallen short of matching the sixth-week collections of Ashwin Kumar mythological animation film Mahavtar Narimsha, a film that was released several months ago and changed the perception of animation films in India. Both films carry strong cultural resonance and have attracted loyal fanbases across multiple regions. Yet, when placed side by side, Mahavtar Narimsha’s sixth-week numbers clearly stand taller in the 6th week.

Election Results 2025

Mahavtar Narimsha delivered an unexpectedly robust sixth week, beginning with Rs 95 lakh on Friday with Saturday and Sunday collections coming in at Rs 1.9 crore and Rs 2.65 crore respectively. The weekdays were equally impressive with Rs 55 lakh on Monday, an upswing to Rs 75 lakh on Tuesday, followed by Rs 60 lakh on Wednesday and a surprisingly strong Rs 80 lakh on Thursday, Mahavtar Narimsha closed its sixth week with a remarkable Rs 8.2 crore total making it the second best 6th week collection of the year, the top spot was held by Vicky Kaushal’’s Chhaava which collected Rs 16.3 crore. In contrast, Kantara 2, though still trending positively and playing to good occupancy, delivered a comparatively softer sixth week. It opened with Rs 50 lakh on Friday, climbed to Rs1.15 crore on Saturday, and touched Rs 1.45 crore on Sunday. However, its weekday numbers saw a more noticeable decline, Rs 35 lakh on Monday, Rs 40 lakh on Tuesday,Rs 35 lakh on Wednesday, and Rs 27 lakh on Thursday as per early estimates. This brought Kantara 2’s sixth-week total to Rs 4.47 crore, nearly half of what Mahavtar Narimsha achieved.Though Mahavtar Narimsha has been able to hold on to its record, Kantara 2 still has the upper hand overall thanks to its stellar performance as its total collection stands at Rs 619.52 crore , while Mahavtar collected around Rs 250 crore.
