Justin asks judge to DISMISS Blake’s $161 Million lawsuit

Justin Baldoni asks judge to DISMISS Blake Lively's $161 Million lawsuit; says 'no reasonable jury' would find him guilty

‘It Ends With Us’ actor-director Justin Baldoni has filed a motion to dismiss Blake Lively’s $161 million lawsuit against him and his Wayfarer Studios team.

Blake cannot prove Justin guilty

The star, on Thursday, filed a formal request to dismiss the suit. According to court documents obtained by Page Six, he argued that his lead actress and co-star, Lively, cannot prove sexual harassment, defamation and conspiracy claims. He also reportedly argued that the actress cannot prove ‘contract claims’, insisting she was an “independent contractor” and hence, not an employee.

Charges are ‘speculative’

In a late-night filing just ahead of the East Coast deadline, Baldoni and his legal team, led by attorney Alexandra Shapiro, submitted a motion for summary judgment in federal court. The report states that Baldoni argued that “no reasonable jury” would find him guilty as the allegations made for lost profits must be proven with “reasonable certainty” and cannot be “speculative, possible or imaginary.”According to Baldoni, Lively’s suit “lacks standing to assert claims for lost profits or royalties,” and he insisted she “cannot recover speculative lost profits.”

Baldoni asks to seal documents from public

The star has also asked for documents to be temporarily sealed from public viewing. Shapiro wrote, “To be clear, the Wayfarer Parties do not believe that much of this material should be sealed, especially to the extent it includes Blake Lively’s contemporaneous communications with others about her work on the film, which are central to the dispute at hand. Nonetheless, the Wayfarer Parties request that the Court not rule on this letter motion to seal for one week, so that the parties can meet and confer and so that any party may file motions for continued sealing if they so choose.”As of now, Baldoni’s October deposition and text exchanges between him, Wayfarer executives, and other team members remain sealed to the public. Currently, Baldoni is scheduled to go up against Lively March 9, 2026, in New York. Go to Source
