Actor Prem Chopra admitted to hospital; Doctors confirm ‘He is stable and recovering well'

Amid growing concerns over the health of actor Dharmendra, news reports confirmed that veteran Bollywood actor Prem Chopra, was also admitted to the hospital over the weekend. The actor was reportedly admitted to the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai.His family, however, has assured fans that there’s no cause for alarm. The actor’s son-in-law, Vikas Bhalla, confirmed to India Today that Chopra was hospitalised primarily as a precaution due to his advancing age.“It’s all age-related, and a regular procedure. There is nothing to worry about,” said Bhalla, adding that the actor is expected to be discharged within the next few days.

Doctor confirms actor’s stable condition

According to a report by IANS, Chopra has been under medical observation for a heart condition compounded by a viral and lung infection. Dr. Jalil Parker, one of the physicians treating the veteran actor, provided a detailed update.Dr. Parker said that Prem Chopra had been admitted to Lilavati Hospital two days earlier under the care of his family cardiologist, Dr. Nitin Gokhale. He added that the veteran actor was being treated for a heart condition as well as a viral infection.Clarifying Chopra’s current health condition, Dr. Parker mentioned that the actor was not in the ICU but in a regular hospital room and was not in a critical state. He explained that the actor was dealing with age-related health issues, which naturally take longer to recover, but assured that he was stable and expected to be discharged within the next two to three days.

A legendary career spanning six decades

Prem Chopra remains one of Hindi cinema’s most celebrated screen villains. He started his career in the 1960s after moving from Shimla to Bombay. He rose to fame with films like ‘Woh Kaun Thi?’ (1964), ‘Teesri Manzil’ (1966), ‘Upkar’ (1967), and ‘Do Raaste’ (1969). Some of his other popular works include ‘Nishan’, ‘Doli’, ‘Dostana’, ‘Kranti’, ‘Betaab’, ‘Loot’, ‘Agent Vinod’.
