Baahubali- The Epic needs Rs 67 lakh to beat Sanam Teri Kasam

Prabhas’s ‘Baahubali- The Epic’ missed out on beating Harshvardhan Rane’s ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ by just Rs 67 lakh on 2nd weekend

Baahubali: The Epic has achieved remarkable success as a re-release, surpassing Tumbbad’s earnings and nearing Sanam Teri Kasam’s record. The franchise’s strong performance highlights the enduring appeal of these films. With continued audience interest, it’s poised to become the highest-grossing re-release in India, proving that cinematic magic can be reignited.

Last year when Harshvardhan Rane’s debut film Sanam Teri Kasam was re-released in the cinema halls, it set the cash registers ringing. The film which in its first run was out of theaters after the first week- this time around stayed in halls for almost a month and minted Rs 33.18 crore making it the highest grossing re-release film in India. Sohum Shah’s Tumbbad came close to its collection but failed to go past it as it earned Rs 30.48 crore. Thanks to lack of original release many films were being re-released but very few did well at the box office. And after the stellar run of Sanam Teri Kasam not many were expecting the history to repeat itself. But when it comes to SS Rajamouli, Prabhas and Rana Daggubati’s Baahubali franchise nothing seems impossible. SS Rajamouli put together both his Baahubali films and delivered Baahubali- The Epic at the box office. And the films set the cash registers ringing in a way no other re-released film has done. On its 1st day itself it went past James Cameron’s Avatar to become the 10th biggest re-release film. The Epic is currently on the second spot well going past Tumbbad’s collection of Rs 30.48 crore. At the end of 10th day the film’s total collection stands at Rs 32.51 crore. A look at its daily collection shows that how with each passing day the collection is slipping but there is still hope for the film. Day 0 [ Thursday] Rs 1.15 CrDay 1 [1st Friday] Rs 9.65 CrDay 2 [1st Saturday] Rs 7.25 CrDay 3 [1st Sunday] Rs 6.3 CrDay 4 [1st Monday] Rs 1.85 CrDay 5 [1st Tuesday] Rs 1.95 CrDay 6 [1st Wednesday] Rs 1.55 CrDay 7 [1st Thursday] Rs 1.05 CrDay 8 [2nd Friday] Rs 35 lakhDay 9 [2nd Saturday] Rs 68 lakhDay 10 [ 2nd Sunday] Rs 73 lakhIt needs just another Rs 67 lakh to go past Sanam Teri Kasam’s re-released collection to become the highest grossing re-released film in India. Trade circle believes that The Epic would be able to do this before the start of third weekend. SS Rajamouli is now all geared up for his next which features Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj- the film is going to be launched on 15th November.
