Bhooma’s love story is filled with complexities

‘The Girlfriend’ tells the story of Bhooma (Rashmika Mandanna), a woman navigating the complexities of love and autonomy in a relationship that slowly turns toxic. Directed by Rahul Ravindran, the film explores all phases of love and is surely relatable to all who have been in love.

Praise for Rashmika and Dheekshith’s performances

According to ETimes, “Rashmika beautifully captures the subtle emotional shifts, grounding Bhooma’s complex journey with nuance and conviction.”The review also notes, “Dheekshith Shetty is formidable as Vikram — the controlling, authoritative boyfriend whose love morphs into rage, then revenge when Bhooma stands up for herself. His shift from charming partner to vengeful adversary highlights his acting prowess.” With decent reviews and occupancy figures, the Rashmika Mandanna starrer is expected to have a strong hold in cinemas for the upcoming days, with decent collections.Meanwhile, Rashmika Mandanna’s previous outing was the Bollywood horror comedy film ‘Thamma’ which received mixed reviews from the audiences, when compared to other films in the ‘Stree universe’. Rashmika Mandanna also starred alongside Salman Khan for the actioner ‘Sikandar’ which didn’t impress the audiences.
