‘Baahubali: The Epic’ sees drop on Tuesday, inches closer to Rs 30 Cr

'Baahubali: The Epic' box office collection day 5: The Prabhas starrer sees huge drop on Tuesday, generates similar number to 'The Taj Story', 'Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat'

‘Baahubali: The Epic’, starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia, hit the theatres on October 31. The SS Rajamouli movie which has now been re-released in theatres as one movie, combined both the earlier parts, has managed to cross Rs 25 crore in the span of 5 days, however, the film has begun to see a drop from Monday onwards. The film had a strong start, making ₹1.15 crore from Thursday premieres and ₹9.65 crore on Friday. It further collected ₹7.25 crore on Saturday and ₹6.3 crore on Sunday. However, on day four (Monday), the numbers dropped to ₹1.65 crore. On Tuesday, day 5, the ‘Baahubali: The Epic’, made Rs 1.50 crore which is in the similar range of ‘The Taj Story’ and ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ on Tuesday. The total collection so far for ‘Baahubali: The Epic’ in India is now Rs 27.60 crore according to Sacnilk.As far as the worldwide box office is concerned, the film managed ₹39.75 crore over its first weekend. While a weekday dip is normal, it remains to be seen if the film can hold steady through the week. For reference, ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ (2015) made ₹650 crore worldwide, and ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ (2017) grossed ₹1788.06 crore.Released with big expectations, ‘Baahubali: The Epic’ even teased an upcoming animated story titled ‘Baahubali: The Eternal War’, reportedly made on a ₹120 crore budget. The latest film has performed better in the South, where Rajamouli enjoys a massive fan following. However, in the Hindi market, it continues to face competition from ‘Thamma’, ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ and ‘The Taj Story’.
