NEW DELHI: The birthday of Arvind Kejriwal, National Convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and former chief minister of Delhi, was observed on Saturday, with party members and supporters noting his political journey and governance record. In Delhi, initiatives included improvements in schools, increased accessibility of hospitals, the establishment of mohalla clinics, and relief on electricity and water bills. These measures were intended to provide greater support and services to citizens.A similar approach was implemented in Punjab, where farmers’ electricity bills were waived, schools were upgraded, mohalla clinics were set up, some officials faced accountability measures, and government jobs were made more accessible. These actions reflected the application of policies aimed at improving governance outcomes.Currently, similar initiatives are being introduced in Gujarat, with interest in comparable governance approaches increasing in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The Aam Aadmi Party has focused on providing basic services and facilities to citizens, emphasizing administrative accountability.Arvind Kejriwal has become a figure recognized across India. His birthday serves as a marker of his political career and the initiatives associated with his leadership. The experiences in Delhi and Punjab provide examples of governance that focus on service delivery and measurable outcomes, rather than identity or political affiliation. This day marks not only his birth anniversary but also highlights the connection between citizens and governance measures intended to address public needs. It underscores the ongoing challenges faced by youth, farmers, and other citizens, and the importance of accessible services such as education, healthcare, and employment opportunities.
