Powai hostage case: Actress reveals how she escaped situation

Powai hostage case: Actress Ruchita Jadhav reveals Rohit Arya invited her to meet at the same studio; had approached her for film role

In a shocking turn of events, Marathi actress Ruchita Jadhav dodged a potential hostage crisis, having been approached by the suspect, Rohit Arya, for an acting role inspired by a real-life incident. Arya had arranged to meet her at the Powai studio, the scene of the unsettling episode, but Jadhav prioritized a family obligation, ultimately grateful for her fortunate timing.

Marathi actress Ruchita Jadhav has revealed that Rohit Arya, the man involved in the hostage incident, contacted her to offer her a film project on a “hostage situation.”Arya, a former school teacher, was shot dead after he allegedly took 17 children and two adults hostage inside R A Studio in Powai on Thursday. The children, boys and girls between the ages of 10 and 12, had reportedly been called to the studio for an audition, reportedly for roles in a web series.

Ruchita Jadhav shares her story

Jadhav posted on her Instagram Stories that Arya had asked her to meet him at the same Powai studio where the hostage incident transpired. She revealed that she escaped the hostage situation, as she had a prior family commitment. She also shared a screenshot of her conversation with Arya. Her first IG Story read, “Hi everyone, I want to share something very personal that has shaken me deeply. On 4th October, I was contacted by someone named Rohit Arya regarding a film project. The subject he described was about a hostage situation. As an actor, I agreed to hear more.”In her next story, she revealed, “On 23rd October, he asked if we could meet on 27th, 28th, or 29th, and I confirmed I could meet on the 28th. On 27th October, he sent me the details, including the location of a studio in Powai, and asked if we could meet the next day.” The post further read, “However, due to unavoidable family commitment, I cancelled the meeting. Today, 31st October, when I saw the terrifying incident in the news—involving this same person—I felt a chill. I can’t stop thinking about how close I came to being there. I’m feeling incredibly grateful to God and to my family, and I truly believe someone up there was protecting me.”Ruchita went on to caution everyone to be careful about meeting unknown persons at work. She added, “This has reminded me—and I hope it reminds you too—that we need to be extremely careful when meeting new people for work, no matter how normal things appear.”
