Mukesh recalls justifying the comment about Sonakshi

Mukesh Khanna recalls justifying the comment about Sonakshi Sinha; says,

The quarrel between Mukesh Khanna and Sonakshi Sinha about cultural values had spiralled out of the blue, raising a lot of questions concerning historical knowledge. While the perfunctory apologies and lengthy statements were made on social media pages, the ‘Shakimaan’ actor has now claimed that he had to write the ‘regretful’ letter after the actress responded.

Mukesh Khanna opens up about the incident with Sonakshi Sinha

When Mukesh was asked whether the letter was penned down in a sarcastic tone or if he genuinely wanted to explain his point of view, he told Filmigyaan, “Mujhe bolna pada kyuki unko bolne ki kya jarurat thi, jab maalum hai ki galti ki hai. Lekin baadmai 8 saal ke baadmai khadi hoke bol diya unhone (I had to write the letter. Why did she write, even after knowing she made a mistake? She started explaining 8 years after the incident.)”

Mukesh Khanna says he needed an example to explain

Furthermore, Khanna recalled Shatrugan Sinha’s comment about being the guardian of the Hindu religion, citing that he laughed at the statement after it surfaced online. Later in the interview, the 67-year-old gave his rational opinion of why he chose to aim for Sinha even after two women sat on the hot seat of the famed show. He said, “I needed an example to tell the common people all over the India, ki dekho ghar ke baccho ko sanskaar do (teach cultural heritage to the children)” Comparing Sonakshi Sinha’s incident to the future generation, he claimed that she forgot about history, but the children of this generation will forget their grandparents’ names, as they will not be in touch. Khanna firmly asserted that whatever he said was not meant to be received in a sarcastic tone, adding that he mentioned ‘this generation’ and not ‘the actress.’
