‘Ramayana’: Yash ‘too handsome’ to play Ravana, says Sadhguru

'Ramayana': Yash 'too handsome' to play Ravana in Nitesh Tiwari directorial? Sadhguru's statement goes viral

Spiritual guru Sadhguru expressed his reservations regarding Yash’s role as Ravana in Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious adaptation of ‘Ramayana’, pointing out the actor’s striking good looks. Meanwhile, producer Namit Malhotra defended the decision, emphasizing the need for a charismatic figure to embody Ravana’s richly layered persona.

Spiritual leader Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev recently had a conversation with producer Namit Malhotra, who is backing Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious project, ‘Ramayana’. During the candid chat, Sadhguru wondered why Yash was cast as Ravana in the film. He also shared the reason behind the question.

Why Yash was cast as Ravana in ‘Ramayana’

In a conversation with Namit on the World of Ramayana’s YouTube Channel, Sadhguru talked about Lankanaresh Ravana. The producer stated that while establishing the whole universe, he was searching for someone who would be the ideal Ravana. To that, the spiritual leader said, “I don’t know how Yash became Ravana. I know him very well. A villain always means he has a blunt nose and a huge stature. Yash is a handsome man.”Namit answered the doubts raised by Sadhguru and shared, “It is because we were almost looking at a superstar-level person to come in and play that role. He is very handsome and a very talented star in the country and incredibly loved.”The producer went on to say, “So, the whole idea was how do we try him? The idea was there had to be a lot of shades of Ravana in terms of why he was who he was.”
