SS Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali’ franchise is set to revisit the theatres soon. Ahead of ‘Baahubali: The Epic’ release, the makers shared a recently dropped full interview, including Prabhas, Rana Daggubati and SS Rajamouli speaking about the film. The director dropped a huge surprise for fans, unveiling details about a new 3D animated film titled ‘Baahubali: The Eternal War’.
A new chapter in the ‘Baahubali’ universe
During a special promotional interview alongside lead stars, SS Rajamouli confirmed that ‘Baahubali: The Eternal War’ is a continuation of the Baahubali universe and not a third live-action film. It will be a high-end 3D animated project. He revealed that the teaser for the upcoming film will be screened during the interval of ‘Baahubali: The Epic’.The ace filmmaker said, “We are releasing Baahubali: The Eternal War teaser. It’s not Baahubali 3, but it’s a continuation of the world of Baahubali. This is a very, very high 3D animation.”
Massive budget and global-standard animation
The ‘SSMB29’ director also mentioned that producer Shobu Yarlagadda has been developing the project for over two and a half years with an estimated budget of Rs 120 crore. “Now we’re coming up with a film which will cost like Rs 120 crores,” he said. Prabhas quipped that the first Baahubali film’s entire planning budget was around the same figure.
What about Baahubali 3?
While Rajamouli shared that ‘The Eternal War’ is not ‘Baahubali 3′, he did confirm that the third installment will happen in the future. “Baahubali 3, the ultimate thing, is there,” he shared, suggesting that the story of Mahishmati is far from over.’Baahubali: The Epic’ is the combined and re-edited version of the grand ‘Baahubali’ saga films The Beginning and The Conclusion. The movie is set to release on October 31.Currently, SS Rajamouli is working on his next big project with Superstar Mahesh Babu.
