Ibrahim Ali Khan finds it ‘cool’ to be called a prince

Ibrahim Ali Khan finds it ‘cool’ to be called a prince; admits ‘my friends laugh at me’

Ibrahim Ali Khan, son of actors Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, comes from one of India’s most well-known royal families, the Pataudis. His grandparents, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and Sharmila Tagore, are legends in their own right. But he isn’t taking the ‘prince’ tag too seriously. For him, being called royal is more amusing than defining.

Ibrahim Ali Khan born into royal legacy

The Pataudi family is among India’s most illustrious lineages, celebrated for its regal heritage and its deep-rooted connection to cricket. Iftikhar Ali Khan Pataudi, the eighth Nawab, not only upheld royal traditions but also earned respect for his contributions to cricket. Later, his son Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi became one of India’s most iconic cricket captains, and his wife, the legendary actress Sharmila Tagore, added cinematic brilliance to the family’s name.

Ibrahim Ali Khan reacts to being called a royal

In an interview with Esquire, Ibrahim spoke about how his friends tease him whenever the topic of royalty comes up. “What does royalty even mean? Like, my friends laugh at me, when even as a joke I say, ‘I’m a prince, guys’,” he said.He went on to add that the concept of royalty feels outdated in the modern world. “We live in such a modern age right now. All these princes, princesses, kings and all don’t matter anymore. But it’s quite cool to have that title,” he shared with a laugh.

Sara Ali Khan once shared similar views on royal lineage

Interestingly, Ibrahim’s elder sister actress Sara Ali Khan once expressed the same thought in an interview with The Hindu. She said, “I find it ridiculous when people think that. I don’t associate myself as a royal.”Sara explained that her life has been far removed from any royal image people may assume. “I’ve lived in Juhu in Mumbai most of my life with my mother. I go to Bandra to meet my dad. I holiday in Himachal Pradesh and Kedarnath and Jammu and Kashmir. Like seriously, I don’t know what royal means,” she said.

Ibrahim Ali Khan on the work front

This year, Ibrahim made his acting debut with the film ‘Nadaaniyan’, which was released on OTT. The film was one of the most anticipated debuts of the year, but after its release, it faced heavy trolling online. He will next be seen in ‘Diler’, a sports drama directed by Kunal Deshmukh. The movie will also feature Sreeleela and reportedly tells the story of a marathon runner. Go to Source
