Back in 2015 when SS Rajamouli was getting prepared to release his Baahubali: The Beginning,Karan Johar who was distributing the film in North India suggested adding the tagline ‘India’s Biggest Motion Picture’ to the film. Now in 2025 as both the films under Baahubali franchise are being put together to turn into a 3 hour 45 minute saga which has been titled as Baahubali: The Epic , the makers are leaving no stone unturned in making it as big a spectacle as the two earlier films.
Producer Shobu Yarlagadda in his exclusive conversation with ETimes shared that the film is going to have a very wide release.
ETimes has now exclusively learnt that Baahubali- The Epic will be screened in 150 IMAX screens across the globe which also includes all 34 IMAX screens in India. This is by far the largest IMAX release for a film which is re-releasing. Breaking down the 150 numbers, the film will be screened in 62 screens, in the United Kingdom and Ireland the number is 58 screens, in India it is 34 screens with the rest coming from Australia and New Zealand.
Shobu in his conversation had mentioned that he and his team were trying to provide the best possible cinematic experience for a generation that has come up now and had seen the film only on their phones or TVs or laptops. He also shared that they were not able to do IMAX when the first part was released in 2015 and now they are getting a chance to fulfill the dream.
Baahubali- The Epic is slated to be released on 31st October, it’s premiere in the US will be held on 29th October. Baahubali-The Conclusion still holds the record for highest grossing Indian film im North America even after 8 years of its release.The film also features Rana Dagubbati, Tamannah Bhatia, Anushka Shetty, Ramya Krishnan and Sathyaraj.
