Renault India on Tuesday said that its flagship SUV, the Duster, will make a comeback in the Indian market on January 26, 2026. The relaunch, timed with India’s Republic Day celebrations, marks the French carmaker’s renewed push in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment.

Originally launched in India in 2012, the Duster redefined the SUV segment and helped create a market now accounting for nearly one-fourth of the country’s passenger vehicle sales. The new model will also be the first product launched under Renault’s International Game Plan 2027 in India, forming a key part of the company’s India-centric transformation strategy – ‘Renault. Rethink’.

“Renault Duster is more than just a name – it’s a true legend. A symbol of adventure, reliability and innovation, its comeback demonstrates our commitment to the Indian market and our desire to offer vehicles that meet the needs of our customers. The new Duster will combine its iconic heritage with modern design, advanced technology and enhanced performance,” said Stephane Deblaise, CEO, Renault Group India.

Globally, the Duster has close to 1.8 million customers, with more than 200,000 owners in India alone, earning a devoted following and cementing its status as one of Renault’s most successful SUVs.
