Ray had a heated moment with Gorilla Nems during ComplexCon 2025 as both exchanged words in front of a large crowd. A video posted by Complex Pop on Instagram showed Gorilla Nems looking straight at Ray and saying his trademark line, “Tell ’em fck your life.” Ray quickly replied, “Fck my life for what?” The crowd reacted instantly, phones came out, and security watched closely as the situation looked like it could explode. The clip spread fast across Instagram and TikTok within minutes.

What made Ray fire back at Gorilla Nems in front of the ComplexCon crowd

Gorilla Nems, real name Travis Doyle, is a rapper from Coney Island, Brooklyn, known widely as the “Coney Island Mayor” for his loud and raw street style. He is famous for his viral phrase “Don’t ever disrespect me.” At ComplexCon, his energy stayed the same. What looked like a normal talk at first suddenly turned serious the moment he threw his signature challenge at Ray. People around them went silent, expecting things to get physical. Gorilla Nems repeated his warning tone, hinting that no disrespect would be allowed. Fans online quickly began asking if it was real tension or just New York-style tough talking.
