'Thamma' Vs 'Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat' box office day 6 (LIVE): The Ayushmann Khurrana starrer expected to see growth on Sunday, crosses Rs 80 crore

Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer horror comedy, ‘Thamma’ released in cinemas on Diwali. As the film gets closer to a week at the box office, it is inching towards Rs 100 crore. ‘Thamma’ was a wide release but it faced competition from Harshvardhan Rane starrer ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ also starring Sonam Bajwa. ‘Thamma’ had three times more shows than ‘Ek Deewane…’ yet the latter managed to have a decent number, giving competition to the film. Here’s the day wise collection of both the movies along with the comparison. On day 1 which is Tuesday, ‘Thamma’ made around Rs 24 crore. On day 2, it saw a drop and minted Rs 18.6 crore. Meanwhile on the third day, which is Thursday, it made Rs 13 crore. Friday has begun on a similar note as Thursday but there may be some growth in the night shows for both the movies. On day 4, ‘Thamma’ collected Rs 10 crore. It saw growth on Saturday, day 5 and made Rs 13 crore. On day 6, which is Sunday, it looks like the film will see further growth as up till afternoon it has made Rs 4.28 crore. The total collection of ‘Thamma’ is now Rs 82.88 crore, according to Sacnilk. Meanwhile, ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ made Rs 9 crore on day 1, which is on par with the collection of ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ on opening day. On day 2, it collected Rs 7.75 crore and on Day 3, it has minted Rs 6 crore. On day 4, it made Rs 5.5 crore. On day 5, which is first Saturday, the movie made Rs 5.75 crore and on Sunday, day 6, it had made Rs 2.3 crore till afternoon. The total collection of ‘Ek Deewane…’ is now Rs 36.3 crore. This is lesser than half the numbers for ‘Thamma’ but there’s also a huge difference in the number of shows for both the movies. Both ‘Thamma’ and ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ are not doing well in the Mumbai circuits, as per Box Office India, however the budget of the latter is also much less and thus the expectations.
