Rashmika Mandanna expresses heartbreak over bus tragedy

The ‘Thamma’ actress expressed her grief on Instagram Story. She wrote, “The news from Kurnool has been weighing heavily on my heart. Imagining what those passengers must’ve gone through inside that burning bus is just unbearable… To think that an entire family, including little kids, and so many others lost their lives in minutes it’s truly devastating.”

Vishnu Manchu shares condolences on social media

Vishnu Manchu, who starred in ‘Kannappa’, took to X to express his sadness. He wrote, “Deeply disturbed by the tragic bus accident on the Hyderabad–Bengaluru highway. So many innocent lives lost in such a horrific manner. My heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. Prayers for the injured and strength to those grieving.”

Sonu Sood highlights urgent safety reforms

Reacting to the tragedy, Sonu Sood posted on X, “Nearly 40 lives lost in 2 weeks to bus fires. People travel to see their families, not meet their end. Time for strict safety norms safer wiring, emergency exits. Enough is enough.” He stressed the urgent need for government authorities and private bus operators to ensure robust safety protocols to protect passengers.

Details of the tragic Kurnool bus accident

As reported by TOI city desk, 19 passengers and a biker lost their lives when a private bus from Vemuri Kaveri Travels caught fire near Chinna Tekuru village, close to Kurnool, along the Hyderabad-Bengaluru highway at around 3 am on Friday.The sleeper coach had left Hyderabad for Bengaluru at 10:30 pm on Thursday with 46 people on board, including two drivers. At around 2:50 am, while most passengers were asleep, the speeding bus hit a bike from behind, which got stuck beneath the vehicle.
